Editorial.
Over the years, the evolution of myomectomy techniques, from the classic by Morrow to the extended one described by Messmer, has focused on septal resection and did not cross the line between the septum and the free wall. Furthermore, the septum is the main target of the myomectomy procedure also in nonobstructive forms of hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM), which are treated to improve the LV diastolic function.
