The research activity of the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at the Centro Cardiologico Monzino is closely integrated with its clinical practice and focuses primarily on the major cardiovascular diseases affecting adults, including:
- Coronary artery disease
- Valvular heart disease
- Aortic diseases
Particular attention is devoted to the identification and study of predictors of major intraoperative and postoperative complications.
The Department conducts translational research, with the goal of rapidly transferring scientific discoveries from the laboratory to the patient’s bedside, thereby accelerating the development of innovative and effective diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
