Renal denervation in a patient with unilateral ectopic kidney in the pelvis and refractory hypertension

Ectopic kidney and inherent vascular abnormalities may result in renovascular hypertension. The case we report is peculiar as a left ectopic iliac kidney supplied by a superior and an inferior polar renal arteries was detected in a treatment-resistant hypertensive man.

Percutaneous renal artery denervation was successfully performed in the right renal artery and in both left accessory renal arteries, obtaining excellent blood pressure decrease at follow-up.
