The Monzino Cardiology Centre is synonymous with training for many professionals who deal with disorders of the heart and vessels, both as the main site of the cardiovascular activities of the University of Milan, and as the seat of numerous post-graduate Masters and continuing medical education courses. Over the years, therefore, many doctors and other workers have come to the Monzino as university course students or for one of the many internships or training courses. In a word, as Alumni.
There is nothing more logical then, for Monzino, to have created a space in which all the Alumni (as well as many "followers", doctors of the area with different specialties who have some type of relationship with the Monzino, perhaps because they send their patients for tertiary level diagnostic or therapeutic services) can somehow feel in touch with each other, access the new courses promoted by the Institute, take advantage of introductory teaching material, annotated bibliographies and slide kits, be informed of its clinical and scientific activities, take advantage of its benefits and concessions. In short, to have created a community, the Alumni Community of Monzino.
In 2018, 37 years have passed since the Monzino Cardiology was founded in 1981 with a donation from the Knight of Labour, Dr. Italo Monzino and the original idea of Prof. Cesare Bartorelli, of the University of Milan, who thought of creating a centre, the first in Europe, dedicated exclusively to the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
The idea of keeping in touch with all those who feel, in various capacities, part of the Institute, through events, activities, news and services reserved for Monzino Alumni and Followers, stems from the awareness of the great educational potential of Monzino and the now recognized excellence of its training in cardiovascular diseases.
