Riabilitazione 1

The physiotherapy service has highly specialised personnel who have the task of promoting the adequate recovery of respiratory function in patients, whether undergoing surgery or not, according to the therapeutic programme established by the ward doctor.

Respiratory physiotherapy begins before the intervention with an interview with the patient in which the rehabilitation process is explained, then continues during postoperative intensive care when the patient reaches a stable clinical condition and lasts until his or her discharge from hospital.

After careful evaluation of the patient’s clinical and instrumental parameters, a personalised respiratory physiotherapy programme is designed with the aim of restoring the respiratory activity compromised by the discomfort caused by the intervention.

The service also deals with the active and passive mobilisation of long-term patients and patients admitted to critical areas (Postoperative Intensive Care and Coronary Units).

The Monzino Cardiology Centre also provides outpatient cardiology rehabilitation activities, making use of a dedicated gym equipped with bicycle ergometers and treadmills.
